cyclone preheater 1

Cyclones are an important element of the preheater machinery in a cement plant and refractories installed in an upper cyclone are subject to low thermal and abrasion and therefore cost effective products are recommended

Following kinds of products are recommended for application:

  • Basic high alumina refractories are used for hot face linings

  • Low cement castables based on calcined clay are used for hot face linings

  • Medium cement castables based on calcined clay are used for hot face linings

  • Gunning materials based on calcined clay are used for hot face linings

  • Vermiculite based Insulating castables used for insulation linings

  • Vermiculite based gunning materials used for insulation linings

cyclone preheater 2

Refractories here are subjected to higher temperature and abrasion and therefore materials with additives such as zirconium dioxide, silicon carbide etc are recommended.

Following kinds of products are recommended for application:

  • Basic high alumina refractories for hot face linings

  • Low cement castables based on calcined clay, mullite, bauxite, zirconia and silicon carbide are used for hot face linings

  • Medium cement castables based on calcined clay for hot face linings

  • Gunning materials based on calcined clay and zirconia are used for hot face linings

  • Vermiculite based Insulating castables used for insulation linings

  • Vermiculite based gunning materials used for insulation linings

Calcinator

This equipment is responsible for the calcination of the raw material.Refractories here are subjected to higher temperature and abrasion and therefore materials with additives such as zirconium dioxide, silicon carbide etc are recommended.

Inlet/riser duct

Calcined raw material is fed to the rotary klin via the inlet duct and therefore refractories here are subjected to higher temperature and abrasion and therefore materials with additives such as zirconium dioxide, silicon carbide etc are recommended.

Following kinds of products are recommended for application:

  • Low cement castables based on calcined clay, mullite, bauxite, zirconia and silicon carbide are used for the duct and chamber linings

  • Medium cement castables based on mullite and bauxite are used for duct and chamber linings

  • Ultra low cement castables are used for duct and chamber linings

  • Gunning materials based on mullite, silicon carbide and zirconia are used for duct linings

  • Vermiculite based Insulating castables used for insulation linings

  • Vermiculite based gunning materials used for insulation linings

rotary klin

Rotary kiln is the core of any cement plant. Calcined raw material is fed into one side the kiln at a few hundred degrees Celsius is heated to 1450°C as it nears the discharge where the burner pipe is located. Once the material reaches 1450°C (at which point it is referred to as “clinker”), it is quickly cooled to quench the material, providing a quality product. Rotary kiln consists of many zones, with each one imposing different requirements and challenges on the refractory lining. Extremely high temperatures, chemical attack and mechanical stresses arising not only from the movement of the fed material inside the kiln, but also due to its rotation.

Following kinds of products are recommended for application:

  • Basic high alumina bricks based on calcined fireclay, mullite, andalusite, bauxite and silicon carbide, are used as nose ring, safety, calcination and preheating zone linings

  • Low cement castables based on based on sintered mullite, andalusite and silicon carbide, are used as nose ring, preheating zone and burner linings

  • Ultra low cement castables based on sintered mullite and silicon carbide, are used for nose ring and burner linings

  • High Alumina based non cement castables based on sintered mullite are used for nose ring and burner linings

  • Magnesite bricks based on magnesia spinel are used for outlet , lower and upper transition and burning zone linings

Cooler & klin hood

Superheated clinker from the rotary klin is fed to the grate cooler. The cooler’s hot section is covered by the kiln hood and includes the Horseshoe and Bull Nose.

Tertiary air duct is connected either to the kiln hood or cooler which feeds the calciner with hot gases. Some zones are under high abrasive stress due to concentration of dust in the stream. For these zones, materials containing Zirconia or Silicone Carbide are recommended.

Following kinds of products are recommended for application:

  • Basic high alumina bricks based on calcined fireclay and mullite, are used as kiln hood, cooler hot and cold sections and tertiary air duct linings

  • Low cement castables based on calcined clay, mullite, bauxite, zirconia and silicon carbide are used for the bull nose, kiln hood, cooler hot and cold sections, horseshoe and tertiary air duct linings

  • Medium cement castables based on mullite and bauxite are used for bull nose, kiln hood, cooler hot and cold sections and tertiary air duct linings

  • Ultra low cement castables are used for bull nose, kiln hood, cooler hot and cold sections and horseshoe linings

  • Gunning materials based on mullite, silicon carbide and zirconia are used for kiln hood , cool section and tertiary air duct linings

  • Vermiculite based Insulating castables used for insulation linings

  • Vermiculite based gunning materials used for insulation linings
